Spring Clean Up/Grass Barrel Pick Up 2025
Grass and leaves are picked up in barrels no larger than 32 gallons for the Spring Clean Up Season. Pick-up will be made every Tuesday starting on April 8th and ending to October 7th. The vendor will complete barrel pick-up by approximately 11:15 AM on Thursdays.

Do not rake to the curb. It is now permissible to place materials in biodegradable (paper) bags. Materials placed in plastic bags cannot be picked up. Branches 3 feet and under must be tied and bundled with twine. Barrels containing branches will not be picked up.
​
Stack branches on your property with all ends facing the same way which may be cut up to 12 feet in length. Make sure they are free from logs and stumps. ALL BRANCHES MUST BE PLACED INSIDE THE CURB LINE, NOT IN THE STREET. Please call 201-767-3330 Ext. 219 for any questions.
Leaf collection info. Grass Barrel Pick-Up Ends October 7th. Leaf collection will begin the week of October 20.
The DPW will begin leaf collection the week of October 20. To better serve you, the following is needed to facilitate the pick up of leaves . . . .

NO BAGS OF ANY KIND will be collected.​

Pile leaves and grass neatly at the curb NOT to obstruct traffic in the street.​

Do NOT mix debris with leaves such as rocks, wood, branches, etc.​

Leaves should NOT be piled around fire hydrants, light poles, signs, trees, etc.​
-
Do NOT place leaves within ten (10) feet of either side of a storm drain.​
-
Vehicles parked in the street prevent us from working along the curb and collecting your leaves.​

The DPW is NOT responsible for any damage to basketball backboards that are located at the curb.​

Leaves will be continually picked up until December 5th. The leaves MUST be at the curb by December 5th.​

Any leaves left at the curb beyond December 5th are in violation of Borough Ordinance #830-2006 and you will be subject to a fine.
​
During leaf season, NO BRANCHES will be collected. If there is a need for branches to be stacked, they must be kept on your property as placing them in the street is in violation of Borough Ordinance #830-2006. Chipping will resume mid-December, weather permitting.

Borough Ordinance #555-86
As per borough ordinance #555-86 it prohibits landscapers or tree companies from leaving any debris at the curb for pickup.

Recycling Information
Acceptable Items:

Paper & Cardboard: Newspaper, magazines, junk mail, envelopes, telephone books, soft cover books, brown paper bags, computer paper, cereal boxes, toy and gift boxes, tissue boxes, food boxes, greeting cards, wrapping paper and corrugated cardboard.
​
Plastics: Beverage containers, detergent and bleach bottles, shampoo bottles, squeezable bottles such as ketchup and mustard.
​
Glass: Clear bottles, green bottles and brown bottles and aluminum cans.
​
White Goods: (stoves, refrigerators [remove doors], etc.) are picked up by the DPW. Please call 201-767-3330 Ext. 219.
Only put trash out the night before scheduled pick up.
